Welcome to Business Card Scanner, a WhatsApp-based automation tool developed by Sigmaflux. This service allows users to easily scan and extract information from business cards using AI-powered OCR technology, directly through WhatsApp. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your data is handled securely and responsibly throughout your experience with our platform.
Information We Collect
When you use the Business Card Scanner, we interact with the following information:
- WhatsApp Phone Number: Used to identify your account and send you chat responses.
- Images Sent: Photographs of business cards sent to our WhatsApp bot. These are temporarily processed using AI OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to extract text, and are not used to train AI models.
- Google Account Information: When you connect your Google Account, we securely access your email address and authorize token permissions strictly to create spreadsheets on your behalf.
Use of Google Workspace APIs (Important)
Our application uses Google’s API Services to enhance your experience. Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We specifically request access to the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file scope.
What we DO: We use this permission strictly to CREATE a single new Google Sheet titled “Business Cards — [Your Phone Number]” into your Google Drive, and APPEND new rows to it when you scan a card.
What we DO NOT do: We completely lack the ability to read, view, delete, or modify ANY other files, folders, or secure data existing in your Google Drive.
How We Use Extracted Data
The text extracted from your business card images is immediately formatted and appended as a new row in your designated Google Sheet. We do not sell, rent, or distribute this extracted contact data to any third parties.
Data Retention and Security
Your Google OAuth access tokens are encrypted and securely stored in our database to facilitate automatic background syncing when you upload a card. The actual generated spreadsheets remain entirely under your control and ownership inside your personal Google Drive.
If you wish to revoke access at any time, you may do so directly through your Google Account Security Settings.
